Cultural Bridge Building for the Twenty-first Century
Mission:
The foundation’s mission is to promote and keep alive the remarkable legacy of Mignon Inniss Ford a.k.a. Teacher Tilliqua, and to celebrate the African American and Afro-Caribbean contribution to modern education in Ethiopia.
Improve educational opportunities for Ethiopian youth by promoting mutually beneficial charitable and cultural exchange between Ethiopia and the African Diaspora.
Re-build and re-stock the Mignon Lorraine Inniss Ford Memorial Elementary and Kindergarten Public School formerly the Princess Zenebe Worq School - which served the nation commendably for more than forty years, and restore it to its former glory, and bring it up to modern-day standards of excellence.
Programs:
Washington, DC Metro Area:
Conduct cultural orientation and competency training for DC Metro community institutions, schools, service providers, and families, to bridge the social and cultural gaps between the diverse African communities in the DC Metro area.
Hold discussion/seminars on current issues that affect the diverse communities of the African Diaspora and explore the salient stages of the initial dispersion of humanity from the African cradle.
Provide support for culturally appropriate health care services in the DC Metro area focusing on meeting the needs of those affected with HIV/AIDS.

The operational arm of MIFF - The Arnold J. Ford Center for the African Diasporas –- will conduct cultural activities on various international cultures with African roots- art exhibits, lectures, music, food, clothing, philosophy, etc… that will highlight the importance of the African Diaspora.
Addis Abeba, Ethiopia Programs:
Establish continuing adult education and extra-curricular activities.
Seek scholarships possibilities along with an international exchange program.
Explore possibilities for jummelage (twinning) with sister schools abroad.
